Hi ♥︎
I'm Finn Frankowski (they/them). I'm a multimedia visual artist from Moh'kinstsis (/Calgary), Alberta. Making art has been a central piece of my identity for as long as I can remember. I am self-taught, and always working to hone my skills. In return, my art teaches me valuable lessons about the world and my own mind.
The magic that permeates this world is as vital as oxygen; I give myself to it like a fish to water- it is inevitable, generous. I am carried by the current as much as I am by my own power, in a constant search for truth and wisdom. My artwork captures sensations and emotions, like a bug in amber or a photograph. My goal is for the viewer to experience these sensations when they look at my art, so they too can access the waking dream of this world. My artwork is also about connection to the land, the subconscious, and our animal nature.
My hope for the world is that one day it will be bursting at the seams with art of all kinds, in every place. One day, the churning drone of industrialized society will not be the loudest voice we hear. I hope to help build a future where we honour and protect this land, and the creatures who call it home.
